Background information

Mental ill health costs UK employers an estimated £34.9 billion each year.  The equivalent of £1,300 for every employee in the UK every year. How many people make up your workforce? Identifying a friend or colleagues’ distress is one thing, having the skill and know how to deal with and manage the situation professionally is far more challenging. These situations can be overwhelming. However, with the right training and guidance a clear pathway to competently and compassionately deal with it can lead to a meaningful outcome that can turn what could have been a disaster into one of further bonding and mutual respect. Elephant in the Room’s training can provide your managers with the confidence and skills to promote healthier behaviour, increase staff retention and increase productivity.

MHFA has already trained over 250,000 individuals in England for companies that include:
Unilever, WH Smiths, Royal Mail, NHS England, Slaughter and May, Skanska, Cross Rail and Wellcome Trust

Where do you start with writing your workplace wellbeing policy? Who should be involved? How will this be communicated? And how do you ensure it is effective and ongoing?

Producing an effective, comprehensive wellbeing policy is difficult enough. Getting this off the ground, maintaining it and monitoring it are often areas that result in failure of the policy. Our programme will work together with key movers and shakers in your company to put together a policy that suits you, gets running within a few weeks and is monitored for its effectiveness. We can also work with you as an external monitor to ensure you have an impartial report.
